I knew photography would play a major role in my life, I just didn’t know how much. I am inspired by photography everyday, because I am inspired by God’s creations everyday. It was only a matter of time before my passion for photography would take hold of me and push me forward.

When I met my wife in 2007, I wanted to remember every part of our journey. She had a point and shoot Canon Powershot S3IS and I remember taking a photo of her during our first camping trip together. We were on our way home in her dad’s truck, and I was using the camera messing around with the settings, and took a beautiful portrait of her. I printed an 8×10 photo from it and have it with me forever. From then on I was taking photos with her camera all the time.

It wasn’t until this year that I purchased my first camera, a Canon Rebel G 35mm SLR from 1994. I love it and as of April I purchased my first DSLR a Nikon D3000 and was given a Canon AE-1 from my wife’s cousin.

I love both film and digital photography and I am a fan of black and white. For me, sometimes color can be distracting for some of the photos I take, but I love color because sometimes a bold red can say so much more than black.

My favorite type of photo is a portrait. Not a studio portrait, but a raw, spontaneous capture of a moment/person you never want to forget.

My goal as a photographer is to capture complete emotion in every photo I take. I hope to become a professional photographer very soon, because I want to be able to capture those emotions, moments, and events in time that make us cry, laugh, yell, gives us goose bumps, and melts our hearts. Making money for taking photos is great, but in all reality all I want is to be apart of those moments in our lives.
