30 Great Photos of the Belfast Wheel

March 29, 2010 By Scott 4 Comments

The Belfast Wheel is both loved and hated, it arrived in October 2007 as a temporary attraction for six months but the council decided to keep it in place for two extra years. Probably the most memorable news story was when a man climbed to the top of the wheel last summer (see the video here).

Three years on and the time has come for the wheel to be dismantled and moved to a new location. One thing is for sure, the wheel was a big hit with photographers.

To mark the demise the attraction we are featuring thirty Belfast Wheel photographs added to the Seven by Five Flickr Pool. As usual click on the link to be take to the flickr image, I am sure the photographers would appreciate some feedback.

I thought the London Eye was perilously close to the architecture! I do like it though and I’d be there photographing it myself if I could! These are all smashing images!

Great pictures, going past it twice a day I guess I take it for granted but it is a great bit of kit!

    Some Great Pics there guys.

I think the wheel was, like many things, worth seeing but not worth going to see.
