September 6, 2011 By Scott 14 Comments

This week we have a brilliant little give away for one lucky reader. Lightroom presets have given us a copy of their brilliant Instamatic preset packs to give away worth $25.

The Instamatic presets for Lightroom are presets that brings back the look, feel, unpredictable beauty, and fun of plastic toy cameras from the past. Every preset will change your lens, flash, or film.

[box]The winner of the Preset Pack is This photo by : Gwenn McGill[/box]

Everyone has seen the hip photos created with the latest iPhone applications but now you can get the processing but with all the quality of high resolution images.

In one click you can apply the preset and make adjustments as necessary.

Each adds a unique touch to your photo, so mix and match to find your favourite preset. The competition includes all 18 of the Instamatic presets for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

How to Enter

To enter all you have to do is add a photo to the Seven by Five flickr Group that you think would look even better with one of the presets applied. Once you have added the photo to the flickr group come back and here and post a link to the photo and tell us why you think it would look even better?

[box]Rules: Winners will be selected by two judges and announced on 17th September 2011. The judge’s decision is final the presets will be delivered by email within two working days. [/box]

I think this photo would defiantly benefit from the ‘Japan 2’ preset. As i love the look that a film camera gives but I don’t own a film camera, I am too cheap, skint, flat broke to buy one ๐Ÿ™

This would look even better with that old ASA 400 film grain feel, which I think is the Lina’s film preset.

The sytle of “Vignette” in this preset package would give this photo a nice still life feel.

I think this photo would look awesome with the vingette presets. But then it might be fun to try some of the high-contrast presets like Japan2.

This image is already pretty filtered and I don’t have the raw verison on Flickr. However, I think the raw image could look pretty awesome with the infrared filter applied to it.

This looks like it was shot with an Instamatic already, I’d like to see what the real deal would make it look like

This photo would look a lot better with the URBAN preset because the contrast and film grain would add some interesting feelings in the image.

I’d like to see either the URBAN or the PARTY preset on this photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thecurtis/5429986342/in/pool-1361648@N20/

To be honest I’d like to see this photo with all of the presets applied so I could see what looks best.. The preset that is screaming out at me is ‘Japan2’. I think the darkness with the sprinkling of colour may add a little ‘je ne sais quoi’.

I would love to see some grainy b&w with heavy vignetting applied to this image. It feels like a timeless scene but the ‘look’ could reflect that more with the help of these presets.

I think my photo would look cool with the Instamatic effects applied because it shows the old, classic feeling of summertime that a lot of these toy cameras represent in their images.

I’ve recently made a stylized photoshoot called Geisha stories, http://www.flickr.com/photos/cherished_galaxy/6144572104/in/pool-sevenbyfive
so I guess, these photos would surely benefit from filters Japan 1, Japan 2 and Japan 3.
