I am a freelance photographer based out of the Nashville, Tennessee area. I have loved photography ever since I was younger, but only took it more serious over the past few years. I love being able to capture moments around me, and bring those things to life through photos. I have a creative mind and I love to bring out that creativity in my work. I want to be able to tell stories through my photography and I believe that at times, that is accomplished.
There are many other photographers out there that have influenced me, or inspired me. Some photographers are; Jeremy Cowart, Chris Daniels, Annie Leibovitz, and Marta Syrko.
I sometimes see photos, movies, things around me, and it gets my creative mind thinking and ideas flowing. I jot down these ideas and eventually turn them into my own work, putting my own twist on things. For me personally, most of my ideas come to me at night, when I’m trying to sleep. I always make sure I write down the ideas, so as not to forget them. There are times when an idea has taken up to 6 months to bring to life through a photo. Some of the ideas I was able to accomplish within weeks of the idea.
One of my aspirations that I have, that I believe I will be accomplishing soon, is to continue some work I did in Madagascar, Africa. I was there in 2013 doing some photography work and photo projects, but was cut short, due to camera difficulties. I am heading back soon, this year, to kind of pick up where I left off. I hope to be able to capture more in this beautiful country, especially in the real remote villages. I want to be able to capture life in these villages, letting others see what it’s really like.
I have had some photography experience over the past years, traveling to different places. I have traveled inside of Tennessee, as well as areas of California (where I am originally from), and in Madagascar, Africa as well. I have been behind the scenes a couple of times for photo shoots with professional photographers, but most of my work has been all self-taught. I went through an online photography course a few years back, and have been putting things into practice ever since. I am still on the road to learning new things, and perfecting my photography skills. And I hope to continue to travel with my photography work.
