A Photograph is like a poem. It is built around emotions. It all starts from that small excitement while seeing something what others have already ignored. It’s the hard work while setting up your instruments, model, etc. It’s the happiness when you see the photograph was perfect. It’s the disappointment when things don’t work out. It’s also that satisfaction when you are praised for your work which inspires you for the next picture.

Hello. I am a Mumbai/Pune based amateur photographer. I am one of those people who talk less and think more. Images! That’s what goes into my mind. It’s this process which helps me create my portraits, see patterns, appreciate the beautiful sky. Other than this I sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day 5 days a week. That pays me enough to spend a month.

This passion of mine started around 3 years ago with a Kodak M883 point and shoot digital camera. To begin with I mostly did nature photography, like any other amateur photographer. But I took this seriously only when I was asked to join a photowalk in Pune by a colleague. I didn’t even know what was in store for me. I was literally scared when I saw those dslrs with long lenses by other photographers that day. But I was introduced to an entirely different genre of photography then-Street. That small exposure changed a lot of things. After that I did a lot of street, portraits and creative stuff.

Last year I moved onto Canon EOS 1100D with an 18-55mm kit lens. Right now my latest fascination has been portraits. This genre not only teaches about controlling of the light but it also gives a lot of creative control over images. The best part about it is that you start creating images rather than just clicking them.

To be on global edge and keep myself in touch with best images, I follow different photographers on Flickr and 500px sites. I just inspires a lot! I envy those photographers who own studios, work with models and create amazing pictures. And every time I see anything like that I promise myself that I will have my own studio someday.

Someday I may move into some advertising firm by quitting my current IT job. Now that one is a really ambitious and risky dream ?

I currently have a Canon EOS 1100D, a kit lens, a tripod and some roommates who pose for me often. Also I like doing post processing in Adobe lightroom and photoshop. My next step will be to buy a 50 mm/f1.8 prime lens.
