My name is Joel Yum and I am a Toronto based photographer. I mainly shoot portraits and still life but I would love to get into documentary photography.
My main focus is on peoples individual character. I love how we are all different and we all have our own unique personalities and styles.
I love to shoot creatives involving people with simple themes but involve personal concepts that we can all relate too.
I also have an admiration and respect for people pursuing their creative passions so I created a project called The Image Interview which has now progressed into it’s own online publication which I run on my own.
I do photo interviews of people in or pursuing creative careers and focus on those who are not only talented but have great attitudes to compliment their talents.
I simply love to photograph creative people that are hard working and passionate and truly deserve some exposure. I incorporate the photos I take with interview questions done on Fuji Instax film to keep the photography theme going.
It definitely adds more personality to the interview!
